Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was a participant in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment which covered 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children from a working class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes relied on free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who occasionally was a drinker and treated her mother with disrespect and sneer, especially when he'd been drinking. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. She was a student at a local Catholic elementary school before beginning the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her freshman years.
